What is GK CSI?

The Gawad Kalinga Center for Social Innovation (CSI) is a business ecosystem development initiative that aims to build a culture of social entrepreneurship by engaging the Gawad Kalinga network and by leveraging on the Gawad Kalinga community platform. CSI comes at a pivotal stage in the Gawad Kalinga movement as it enters the second phase of its GK 2024 Vision.

The first phase (2003-2010) sought for social justice—addressing social injustices by providing land for the landless, homes for the homeless and food for the hungry. Social artistry, the second phase (2010-2017) designs sustainable programs for livelihood, food sufficiency, environment, health and education.

After building 2,000 villages and providing a Philippine template for social justice that can be done peacefully and effectively through the GK way of caring (kalinga) and sharing (bayanihan), the next question is:
“how do we sustain our momentum and even accelerate these programs to realize our 2024 vision of helping five million poor families out of poverty?”
